Experience Austria's nature

Mighty mountain ranges that cover the country to two thirds of the country, fresh air, untouched nature, clean water and a pleasant climate – that´s Austria! Austria's unique cultural and natural landscape borders Germany to the north, Switzerland to the west, Italy to the south and Hungary to the east.

Nature is best explored in the warm season by hiking, climbing and biking. If you want to master great alpine challenges, start climbing Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner (3798 m). Pleasure hikers go on a relaxed tour or one of the many high trails.

The most beautiful cities of Austria

As Austria's capital, Vienna is probably the best-known city in the Alpine state. It is one of the most important cultural and political metropolises in Europe and impresses with the highest quality of life. The picturesque old town leads through the magnificent history of the empire and inspires by sights such as the Gothic St. Stephen's Cathedral, Schönbrunn Palace and numerous museums.

Located on the Danube, the city also offers numerous opportunities for romantic walks, extensive bike routes and lots of fun in the water.

If you follow the Danube to the west, you will reach Linz. The former steel city has now become a vibrant cultural laboratory and a trendy city. The capital of Upper Austria has therefore not lost its connection to nature. With a botanical garden, skating facilities and city hiking trails, nature lovers have a lot to offer.

Graz, Austria’s second-largest city, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The capital of Styria combines historic old town with futuristic architecture and is considered a lively, colorful place that offers something for everyone. Active vacationers will find numerous routes in nature around the city, along the Mur River, up the Graz Schlossberg or Schöckl.

Innsbruck also has challenging mountain adventures to offer. The city in the west of Austria is the capital of Tyrol and also of the Alps. Located in the Inn Valley at the foot of the Nordkette, the Karwendel and the Alpine Central Range, it is a true paradise for outdoor sports enthusiasts both in summer and winter.
