Scenic Route
A road trip doesn't always have to be about arriving at your destination. On the road on a scenic route, the journey is the destination. Whether on a mountain or coastal road, on a winding route or a long straight, alone in the car, as a couple or with a group – a drive on a scenic route can become a very special experience.

What are scenic routes?
Panoramic roads, also known as holiday or adventure routes, are designed for leisurely drives rather than speed. The goal is to enjoy a relaxed ride while taking in the stunning scenery. Some of these routes were specifically created for this purpose, while others use existing roads. Often, these scenic routes are clearly marked, making it easy to follow them even without a navigation system. Panoramic roads come in all lengths, from short trips to multi-day journeys.

Travel tips for panorama routes
The best views of the landscape are probably the main argument for a journey on a panoramic road. Driving slowly allows the driver to enjoy the breathtaking landscapes. And it doesn't matter whether you are looking at the mountains or the sea, at endless meadows or the desert: There are scenic roads everywhere. So get behind the wheel and hit the road.
Of course you can also get out of the car on the way. Many routes have great viewpoints, rest areas or cultural highlights. Themed routes take you to buildings, museums or tasty treats. And even if you don't have any special points along your route, you should take regular breaks, especially if you are travelling with children.
Preparation and Luggage
Before you hit the road, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the route. A sat nav with up-to-date maps and a paper map are essential, especially for longer trips. Be sure to thoroughly check your car: inspect the oil, brake fluid, coolant levels, tire tread and pressure, and brake pad wear. Don't forget to check the wiper blades, handbrake, and vehicle lights as well. If there's anything you can't do yourself, a garage can take care of it for you.
When it comes to packing, the amount of luggage you bring will depend on the length of your trip.
Are you only traveling for a few hours, or will you be on the road for several days or weeks? Nutritious snacks, plenty of water, blankets, cushions, and a few games for the kids (if you're traveling with little ones) are always a good idea. If you're traveling with a lot of luggage, make sure everything is packed securely.
