The Way of Saint James of Compostela in Alsace connects Wissembourg to Belfort. Inaugurated on Saint James' Day, July 25, 2003, marked by the Club Vosgien associations throughout the route, it forms the link ensuring continuity between Northern and Eastern Europe at the gates of Franche-Comté where the trail continues to Belfort via Bellemagny for a total of 275 km of long-distance hiking.
The Way of Saint James of Compostela in Alsace starts at Wissembourg. It is divided into 12 stages of approximately 25 km each. Each stage offers accommodation possibilities. However, everyone is free to organize their stages according to their own walking pace.
