Without ascents, the Rhine Cycle Route mostly runs close to the shore and almost always on its own paths. It is continuously signposted with the EuroVelo 15 route logo.

The Rhine cycle path runs through three tourism regions in Rhineland-Palatinate: from the border with France in the south, it passes through the Palatinate, Rheinhessen, and the Rhine Valley until it reaches the NRW border at Rolandseck. It partly uses routes on the towpath often under tall poplar rows directly by the shore but sometimes also makes loops around old Rhine branches or built-up areas.

Radreise Rüben und Reben by Conny
