Here, adventure and travel by bike know no bounds and inspire some crazy challenges. It's up to you to take up Daniel BERNARD's challenge, who covered 40 Ain mountain passes in less than 3 days, covering almost 650 km and 14,500 m of ascent - the equivalent of Mont Blanc and Everest!
As for pass enthusiasts, they meet up every year (one Saturday a month from June to September) for the Grand Colombier Cycling Days, with the added bonus of superb views over the Bugey, Rhône, Alps, Mont-Blanc and the 3 Alpine lakes (Léman, Bourget and Lac d'Annecy).
As you can see, it's no coincidence that the region hosts some of the biggest international and national cycling competitions (Tour de France, Tour de l'Avenir, Tour de l'Ain...). What a spectacle for all cycling enthusiasts!

The GTJ® by bike in Ain
For cycling enthusiasts, the GTJ® offers splendid landscapes, such as the Valserine valley, the first river to be awarded the "rivière sauvage de France" label.
It stretches over 360 km between Montbéliard in the Doubs and Culoz in the Ain. The Valserine Valley, Plateau de Retord and Valromey are the stages in the Ain département.
For the more athletic, there are a number of beautiful variants, including the ascent of the legendary Grand Colombier pass (1498 m).
