Whether you're looking for a walk in the countryside or a hike in the mountains, here are a few ideas for 100% nature walks in Ain, a region that offers a wide variety of landscapes, from the Bresse plains to the highest peaks of the Jura massif, which culminate... in Ain!

The Ain trails are suitable for all levels, from simple strolls of a few kilometers to long hikes and even multi-day itineraries. The most athletic will climb the highest peaks: Crêt de la Neige (1720 m) in the Monts Jura or, at the southern end of the massif, Grand Colombier (1534 m) in the Bugey Sud.

But these breathtaking panoramas of Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva aren't just for them: the Retord plateau offers gentle hikes and belvederes such as the aptly named Beauregard. An exceptional 360° view can also be enjoyed from Mont Planachat above Hauteville.
