A 5-day route to explore the mythical passes of Ariège awaits you!

The first stage between the Fuxéen country and Couserans will lead you to the ascent of the col de Port at 1250m. Then, the crossing of the Bethmale valley: you will discover rolling landscapes where pastoralism and cheese production thrive, before tackling the two sporting challenges of the route: the col de la Core culminating at 1395m and the col d'Agnes with, as a bonus, a superb view of the Valier.

The last section offers magnificent panoramas from the corniche road and a view of the famous Luzenac talc quarry, the largest open-air talc quarry, before facing the challenge of the day, the symbol of the quintessential cycling ascent: the plateau de Beille.

    Author’s recommendation

The main attraction of one of the sections is the col de Pailhères, one of the highest passes in Ariège.
