Hike to the Appy pond - Ariège
A very beautiful round-trip hike, with magnificent views of the Ariège Pyrenees and a pleasant break on the shores of the Appy pond.
Allow 2h15 for the ascent and 1h45 for the descent.
The hike is on a relatively steep ascent, but it is quite steady and without major difficulties.
The lower part is more rocky and stony. The end of the descent on the way back can therefore be a bit difficult.
The intermediate section offers superb panoramas, particularly at the large rock overlooking the valley, with views of the Massif de l'Aston, Pic de Rulhe, or even in the distance Pic Carlit.
The last flat section to reach the pond is pleasant. With a delightful break by the fresh water.
