Selected alternatives for you

From the Brenztopf, one of the typical karst springs of the Swabian Alb, you cycle along the Brenz through a diverse landscape to the mouth of the Brenz into the Danube.

Over 56 kilometers, you follow the unique pleasure route along the Brenz from its source in Königsbronn to its mouth in the Danube. Along the way, you encounter vibrant cities, castle ruins and castles perched on rocks, the Stone Virgins in the legendary Eselsburger Tal, and a world of cuddly toys in the Steiff Museum. You experience the typical karst landscapes of the Swabian Alb with rock formations and juniper heaths and finally immerse yourself in the Danube valley where the water from the Alb influences the formation of moors and floodplain forests. Those wishing to explore more rivers by bike can continue along the Danube and Egau to the Härtsfeld. You can return to the starting point with the Brenzbahn from Sontheim an der Brenz.

Some sections are very exciting for small biking legs. They will particularly enjoy a break at the new Brenz adventure points. There you learn much interesting information about the Brenz and its inhabitants. You can splash around, observe nature, or simply let your soul dangle.

    Author’s recommendation

In the lovingly furnished café refined at the Brenz spring there is homemade cake.
