Dog-friendly holidays in Visegrádi-hegység

Visegrád az ország egyik legnépszerűbb kirándulóhelye, ahol számos túraútvonal várja a természetjárókat. Családi túránk a Nagy-Villám környékét mutatja be, a gyönyörű panorámák mellett kevésbé ismert útvonalakat is útba ejtünk.

Our round route crosses spectacular and varied terrain within arm's reach of the capital, in the heart of Pilis. Between Csobánka and Pilisszentkereszt, scenic meadows along the stream and gentle oak woods shape the landscape. We take a small slice into the deeply carved, rocky boulder area of the Kovács stream gorge, and we also climb up to the rocky viewpoint on the hilltop.

Sharp-sloped mountains and impressive rock ridges rise above Pomáz. Our hike leads deep into this geologically rich area and reveals shapes that only the more attentive eye can unpack from the forest’s hiding places.

We can hike around the Lom hill block mainly along stream banks and in the ideally located Sikáros basin. If we come at the right time, the hill rewards us not only with its beautiful forests but also with its foliage; the route indeed leads from spring to spring.

The easiest way to the highest point of Keserűs Hill, Prédikálószék, leads from Pilisszentlászló. In addition to the majestic panorama, we also visit Sikáros, the most beautiful basin near Budapest, enclosed by mountains.

We visit the hills adjacent to Szentendre, touching panoramic ridges and rocky grasslands, and finish our hike along stream beds deeply cut into the hard rocks. The route circles the valley of the Sztaravoda stream, its spring area, threading together well-known and less frequented spots.

The Vörös-kő is a prominent viewpoint on the eastern edge of the Visegrád Mountains. Our hike connects Leányfalu with Tahitótfalu in a classic mountain ascent, with the route colored by forests varying according to the lively terrain.

Emerging from lush forest, dark andesite cliffs, views opening to dense forests, and a stony stream winding around rocky ribs color one of the richest hiking routes in the Visegrád Mountains. Close enough to Budapest to reach in a stretch, the gentle Carpathian atmosphere of the North Hungarian Mountains blossoms around the Szent László Valley in a forest also favored by former noble hunting grounds.

We visit the iconic hiking spot of Esztergom, the Vaskapu hill block. We seek out the country’s only "hut" with a classic panoramic terrace and thoroughly explore this unique witness hill rich in viewpoints.

Búbánat (Sorrow), chills, Turkish invasion, plague – the names related to the terrain and the stories behind them paint a dark picture of the northwest corner of the Visegrád Mountains. Yet down below is an idyllic mountain foot lake chain, and above, panoramas open to the Danube and the opposite mountains that define the landscape’s current character. We hike among low yet steep ridges, tasting this colorful yet compact segment of the mountain range where numerous attractions line up in a small area.
