Der BestWeg Ostwig beginnt und endet am Wanderparkplatz "Am Steinberg" direkt an der Hauptstraße in Bestwig-Ostwig. Mit 230 m Höhenunterschied auf einer Streckenlänge von 8,5 km und einem steil ansteigenden Bergpfad zur Steinbergruine braucht man schon etwas Kondition. Der Weg ist in beide Richtung mit dem Zeichen „Bestwiger BestWeg Ostwig“ markiert. Die BestWege sind ein starkes Stück Sauerland. Wanderexperten aus den Dörfern rund um Bestwig haben sich auf den Weg gemacht, um DEN attraktiven und für den Ort repräsentativen Wanderweg auszukundschaften. Herausgekommen sind die Bestwiger BestWege - tolle Rundwege um Andreasberg, Heringhausen, Nuttlar, Ostwig, Ramsbeck und Velmede-Bestwig. In einer Wanderzeit zwischen zwei und vier Stunden kann man abwechslungsreiche Wanderrouten entdecken.

Lovely hike along old railway tracks, forests, clearings, and beautiful viewpoints.

This very varied circular hiking route follows the Sauerland Forest Route, in and around the mountain village of Kallenhardt, through the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park. Besides the beautiful nature and great views, the summit cross on the Kalvarienberg and the Körtlinghausen water castle are the attractions of this hiking route.

The Hanseatic city of Breckerfeld, located on the heights, is an ideal starting point for hikes. Many views accompany our route to the Glör reservoir, where bathing is allowed and explicitly encouraged. A restaurant at the lake with a beautiful view of the water makes the route an extra special excursion experience.

Experience the mystique and natural beauty of the Muckenbruch fen area on this 5 km circular hike. The nature reserve and peat extraction area is located about 1 km east of Erwitte-Bad Westernkotten.  There you can discover many sights and remarkable facts about the flora and fauna. Many of the plants and animals in the Muckenbruch are on the red list of endangered species.

The Mythenweg starts at the Wormbach hiking portal and leads through the beautiful Hawerland.

From Küstelberg you hike, on this stage of the Rothaarsteig, past the Ruhr source, through the winter sports resort Winterberg, up to the roof of the Sauerland - the Kahler Asten.
