MTB-VTTAE loops - Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur, land of bikes
In this collection, you'll find all the mountain bike and electrically-assisted mountain bike trails in the middle and high country of the Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur.
Combining sea and mountains, the Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur is an excellent playground for mountain biking in all seasons. Its exceptional climate, with more than 300 days of sunshine a year, means you can take full advantage of the mountain bike trails from the Côte d'Azur all the way to the Mercantour National Park.
The region's rich heritage, hilltop villages, age-old skills, diverse leisure activities, and the landforms that link its Mediterranean shores to Gelas, the Mercantour's highest peak at 3,143 m, make it a unique territory.
With more than 50 leisure, mountain bike, and electrically-assisted mountain bike circuits marked out and approved by the French Cycling Federation, you'll have the opportunity to :
- Discover historic hilltop villages such as Aspremont, Belvédère, Ilonse, Marie, Roubion, and Venanson, as well as the listed village of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage,
- Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline from the Mont Chauve or Broc summit circuits, and of the Mercantour from the Férission cow farm, Turini and Colmiane peak,
- Climb the legendary Turini, Lombarde and Bonette passes,
- or explore the ski resorts of Auron, Isola 2000, La Colmiane and Roubion les Buisses.
These circuits are graded green, blue, red or black according to difficulty (very easy to very difficult). The start of the circuits is marked by a signpost, and they are then marked with the official logo of the French Cycling Federation (triangle and two orange circles) and numbered.
