- At the upper exit of the village (1475 m), take the right road that climbs to the col de la Moutière (14 km of ascent at an average 8%). This route was successively a Roman road, strategic road then... tourist road.
- Enter the National Park and arrive on the Sestrière plateau, a magical place, land of larches and marmots.
- Continue climbing, vast nature, magnificent scenery, the col de la Moutière (2438 m) soon in sight!
- Continue for 4 km on a balcony along a wide path until joining the Bonette road (2550 m).
- Now, by road, head to the summit of the Bonette; 4 km with an end at... 18%. Prepare your calves, save a bit of battery (watch out for the thin air!*) to reach 2802 m! Stunning view, lunar atmosphere!
- That's enough for the climb, start the descent! First possible stop at the Fourches camp: a former high mountain military barracks recently restored!
- Bousiéyas, a model of mountain architecture, a magnificent hamlet! We recommend a short stop: café, drink, meal in the sun!
- End of the stage, reach Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée (1230 m), the main village of the valley with many places of interest and heritage site visits.
* watch out for the thin air
