Route n°1 - 2 days - Stage 2 Isola Village - Nice
Participants will not be disappointed; riding part of a legendary Tour de France stage remains a highlight of their sporting careers.
After a few km of warm-up on a slight downhill, the slope of the Col de Saint-Martin reminds us of the Tour's passage.
This first-category col was climbed from this side by the riders of the 2020 Tour de France where Benoît Cosnefroy led over the summit.
This col was also on the Paris-Nice route with 3 summit finishes. The winners, all great champions: Simon Yates in 2017, Nairo Quintana in 2020, and Primož Roglič in 2021
Once past this first challenge, the route, after a very fast descent, reaches the Vésubie valley, where the scars of Storm Alex are still visible.
The village of Roquebillière-le-Vieux marks the start of the Col de Turini. An impressive series of hairpin bends and a pleasant coniferous forest will shelter riders in the final part leading to the summit at 1604 m altitude.
Following the Peira-Cava ridge through the forest, a long technical descent will bring us back toward Nice.
Starting almost from the city center, Saint-Roch district in Nice (Altitude 17 m), the last climb of the day awaits cyclists. The slopes of the Col d‘Èze rise quickly to finish the ascent at an altitude of 507 m.
The summit is located here, in a parking area next to the Hermitage inn near a sculpture remembering the passage of the Tour de France in 2020.
To finish this journey, riders just have to let themselves go towards Nice, the end of these two beautiful sporting days.
