The landscape in the Oberallgäu attract numerous athletes in winter. The natural toboggan run at "Mittag" near Immenstadt is particularly popular with families, while the network of winter hiking trails offers a wide range of activities for all generations. Ski touring enthusiasts can often be found in the western and eastern foothills as well as around the "Hörnergruppe" and in Balderschwang. Ski freeriders enjoy optimal conditions on the "Hochgrat", "Nebelhorn" or "Schlappoltkopf".
