Running in Siegen

The route from the Dautenbach hiking parking lot on the K5 to the Hasenbahnhof (wind turbine) and along the Rabenhain observation tower is one of many varied and scenically attractive circular routes and offers some beautiful views of Siegen and the Siegerland.

Siegen's jogger meeting point, running track for beginners and competitive runners. Illuminated in darkness and cleared of snow in winter: this is the Sieg Arena on the edge of the city centre.

The circular route starts on the edge of the city center above the vocational schools only 950 meters from Siegen main train station. The route takes the runner up Fischbacherberg and through tall beech forests, crosses the Siegen Flowtrail - a mountain bike trail - several times and partially runs along the Jakobsweg and the Achenbacher circular route.

The Giebelwald lies between Siegen-Oberschelden in the east, Oberfischbach and Niederfischbach in the north, and the Sieg valley with Freusburg and Niederschelderhütte in the south. The extensive forest area is suitable for long-distance runs on wide and well-maintained forest paths.

Running under the shady canopy of tall trees: The Tiergarten is a colorful meeting place for families, old and young people, runners, hikers, and dog lovers.

Beton unter den Füßen, Beton über dem Kopf. Sie ist nicht die schönste Laufstrecke in Siegen – im Winter jedoch ist der Wendepunktkurs unter der Hüttental-Straße ein echter Geheimtipp.

Die Laufstrecke Am Häusling ist eine 1.250 Meter lange, recht flache  Laufrunde mitten im Grünen der Krönchenstadt Siegen.

Die "Faule Birke" ist eine alte Flurbezeichnung für die Eisernhardt, einer von Siegens sieben Bergen. Seinen Kopf markiert ein mächtige Sendeturm, den der Läufer auf der gut vier Kilometer langen Strecke umrundet.

Schöner, sonniger Höhenweg mit Aussicht und Einkehrmöglichkeit beim „Waldhaus Schränke“ am Zielpunkt. Zum Joggen oder Wandern geeignet.
