The pilgrimage route from Thaur to San Romedio is a true nature experience: pilgrimage sites, small shrines, and wayside crosses, beautiful landscapes, alpine pastures, and passes await the pilgrims. Starting from Thaur, the route leads in 12 day stages over 192 km and 9,600 meters of elevation to the pilgrimage site San Romedio in Trentino.

From Graun over Roen to Mendel Pass

With the shuttle or city bus, you reach the starting point in Graun. From there, you continue on foot via trails and forest roads to the Grauner Joch. Following the mountain ridge always northwards, passing the Schweigglhütte and the Schwarzen Kopf, you reach the highest point of the route, Roen. The descent goes via Malga Romeno and the Halbweg hut to the Mendel Pass.
From the Mendel Pass, you can either take the funicular down to St. Anton in Kaltern and then return to Tramin by public transport, or travel directly from the Mendel Pass back to Tramin by shuttle via the Mendel road.

It impresses with many panoramic views over Lago Smeraldo and the Brenta Dolomites. It is an easy and comfortable route, also nice to do in autumn and spring.

Kurzwanderung zur schönen und absolut sehenswerten Wallfahrtskirche, die kostenlos besichtigt werden kann.
Die Wegstrecke durch die tiefe Schlucht ist eindrucksvoll, Schwindelfreiheit ist aber durchaus von Vorteil, wenn auch nicht zwingend erforderlich, da der Pfad, der in den Fels geschlagen wurde, über 1 km direkt an einer Steilwand entlangführt.
Mit Besichtigung der Wallfahrtskirche sollte man ca. 1-2 Stunden einplanen. Bei mir wurden ca. 7,1 km und 231 hm getrackt. Für den Hinweg benötigt man ca. 1 Stunde, für die Besichtigung ca. eine halbe Stunde und für den Rückweg eine halbe Stunde bis Stunde.
Tatsächlich würde ich die Tour aber nur nochmal laufen, wenn ich ohnehin in der Nähe wäre, gezielt und länger anfahren, wäre es mir nicht wert.

Bel giro veloce sebbene, come segnalato da altri, la discesa e la salita sono piuttosto ripide e scivolose. In particolare, il lato verso Dermulo è anche privo di staccionata o appigli. Ho fatto il sentiero con bambini, ma non lo consiglierei per la scivolosità e per l'esposizione di alcuni punti. Bello però il fondo del canyon e affascinanti i resti dell'eremo, con bella vista. È anche un'occasione per attraversare a piedi il ponte vicino alla diga.
