Offroad routes in North East England

4x4 Green laning in the Yorkshire Dales. Lovely steep rocky climbs and decents. A good mixture of terrain and a fantastic dam crossing. If you drive this route on a sunny clear day you will have some spectacular views.

The route starts from the closed Crown Inn postcode,  HG43BS. Grewelthorpe. Mostly MEDIUM. Some CHALLENGING. Good ground clearance, low ratio, 4WD required. 4 low level river crossings. Atleast AT tyres required. Advise group of 2 vehicles or more. This can be completed in a day. Approx. 8 hrs. TAKE CARE AT THE RIVER CROSSING WEST OF AYSGARTH, THE EXIT BANK CAN BE VERY DIFFICULT! Most of the route is EASY. Excellent views around Scarhouse Resevoir. Slighlty gnarly north over Deadmans Hill. Challenging at FREMINGTON EDGE. GOATS ROAD.

North York Moors lanes Route starting by the church in Crathorne and finishing at the A171 north of Egton Nice steady day with time for stops and sight seeing. Magpie in Whitby for fish and chips after is always a treat.

Nice steady ride out, a couple of technical rocky sections. 2 nice river crossings.
