Motorcycle routes in South West England

Ride N Guide Christow to Shaldon. This route has a wide variety of lanes and would be better suited to a more intermediate rider due to technical lanes like 'sims hill' being included. This route has been made with a fuel stop shortly after the Devon Express Way. Also included is the Ode Cafe in Shaldon which is great place to stop for a coffee or lunch.

full day ride from adventure bike festival down fosse way green road,(may have vehicle restrictions, untested) down to bath and onto cheddar gorge mendips , scenic coastal ride , and motorway back to ragley hall. maybe best in reverse.

Trail ride on Salisbury plain, legal byways and rights of way.

Quite a few of these lanes have Winter TROs and it is not really practical to avoid them as there is then too much tarmac - check the GRM for the dates on the lanes that are shown dashed.  An excuse to take in some unusual lanes near the Thames. Petrol at 65 and 107 miles (CW). Can be reversed without other changes.  Approx 63 lanes, depending how you count them, but a few longish tarmac sections.  Plenty of pub lunch opportunities.  Suitable for big bikes although there are some rutty lanes and chalk so it's significantly easier in very dry weather.  As of posting date (3/8/25/) 2 lanes cannot be accessed temporarily but the go around is easy and they are no great loss.  There are lots of really nice lanes, good views and variety. Heading west from Shaftesbury towards Cranborne via the Ox Drove and then to the Heavy Horse Centre before sweeping In a circle to the South West along quiet lanes before heading North to cross the Ox Drove and finish through the Donheads.
