Monasteries, castles and the impressive Mildenstein Castle shape the river section of the Mulde between Leisnig and Grimma popular with paddlers.

The route runs through the beautiful Karl-Heine Canal (also called Little Venice) and ends at Lindenauer Hafen. There is a connection option to the Elster-Saale Canal.

The water hiking route between Wechselburg and Colditz surprises with a landscape variety that one might not have expected in the Leipzig region.

Route 1 leads from the bustling Leipzig city center through the idyllic floodplain forest to the watersports paradise Cospudener Lake.

The Elbe covers a total of 1,091 kilometers from its source in the Czech Giant Mountains to its mouth in the North Sea. Geographically, the Elbe is divided into three sections – Upper, Middle, and Lower Elbe. The so-called Middle Elbe, a meandering lowland stream, shapes the northeastern area of the Leipzig region.
