Ski tours in the region of Schladming-Dachstein

The Rumpler-Runde, which starts at the Krippenstein in Upper Austria, can also be tackled if you are fit enough. Experts then descend to Ramsau via the mountainous Edelgrieß variant.

Another classic is the Rumpler tour, which can be tackled from the Dachstein Südwandbahn as well as from the Krippenstein in Upper Austria. This tour is not considered one of the most beautiful ski tours in Austria for nothing and can be crowned with an ascent of the Dachstein. Good planning and good visibility are essential for this ski tour, as orientation on the extensive plateau and glacier is not always easy. It is also best to save the map section with GPX track offline.

For those who enjoy long and challenging ski tours, the region offers plenty to do. Not only the Dachstein offers long and challenging tours, but also the Niedere Tauern offer an almost inexhaustible range of tours that clearly break the 1,000-metre-high mark.

As this is a nature park, only the designated routes should be followed. Among the most beautiful tours are those to the Deneck and, in spring, the long tour to the Knallstein.
