A prominent, from afar visible ridge that leads into the so-called "Eisraute" before the summit, mostly solid granite. This is how the route from the Wildgerlostal or from the Zittauer Hut via the rarely climbed north ridge to the second highest summit of the Reichenspitz group can be summarized. Sehr schöne Genußkletterei. Der Übergang zum südlicheren Turm schaut zwar nicht einladend aus, löst sich aber wunderbar auf. Die erwähnten IV- dürften gut passen. Abstieg über Südgrat ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen

Später im Jahr, wenn der Gletscher blank ist, kann es dazu kommen, dass die gängige, auch hier beschriebene Route nicht mehr möglich oder viel schwieriger wird.
Steiles Eis und eine längere Felspassage mit ggf. auch Randkluft (siehe Stelle Nr. 1 im Bild) beim Einstieg in die kurze Rinne zum Gipfelgrat machen die Tour schwieriger. Alleine das Erreichen der Rinne kann schon heikel sein (Spalten und steiles Blankeis).
Man kann vom Orginalweg (in rot markiert) auf eine Alternative ausweichen (blau markiert). Hier muss man aber die Spaltenzone queren - bei recht steilem Eis - und dann eine Rinne mit vermutlich viel Schutt hochsteigen (wir sind die Tour nicht gegangen, haben aber andere Bergsteiger dort gesehen).
Daher würde ich die Tour später im Jahr nicht mehr umbedingt empfehlen. Generell sind am Gletscher sehr viele Spalten und auch auf Steinschlag im unteren Bereich sollte geachtet werden!

Wir mussten leider umdrehen, weil am Gletscherrand hoch (die Linkskurve bei 2445hm,, siehe Bild) wir keinen Abschnitt gefunden haben, wo nicht Gefahr bestand, dass uns Steine verschiedener Größe entgegenkommen. Wir hatten es an ein paar Stellen versucht. Runter ging es dann auch nur mit rutschen u. durch mitnahme diversen Gerölls oder mittelgroßen Steinen.
Auch weiß man ja nicht, ob von oben jemand Steinschlag auslösen könnte.
Ich vermute die aufgezeichnete Route ist nicht mehr so neu. Vielleicht besser an einem Tag gehen, wo es kälter ist und der Boden angefroren.
Wir sind niemandem begegnet.
