Via ferratas in the Tannheim Valley

The via ferrata to Lachenspitze (2,123 m) in the Tannheimer Tal is a varied, mostly exposed route with a difficulty level of C/D. It leads over the southeast flank and offers fantastic views down to the turquoise-blue Lachesee. The route is very well secured and exposed – perfect for sure-footed and fearless climbers seeking an alpine experience.

The Friedberger via ferrata connects the Schartschrofen and the Rote Flüh (2,111 m) and is one of the classics in the Tannheimer Tal. It is varied, mostly of medium difficulty (B/C,1-), with some exposed sections, traverses, and short ladders. The via ferrata runs along a beautiful ridge and offers impressive views down into the valley and onto the Haldensee.

The Köllenspitze (2,238 m) is the highest peak in the Tannheimer Valley and offers an alpine challenge with its via ferrata. The route is demanding (difficulty D), steep, and exposed, with some strenuous sections. The ascent is rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view over the Tannheimer Valley, the Allgäu Alps, and into the Lech Valley.

The Edelrid via ferrata on the Iseler (1,876 m) above Oberjoch is a modern, athletic route with varied sections at difficulty level BC. Highlights are airy traverses. The route is well secured and offers magnificent views down to Oberjoch and into the Ostrach valley.

A beautiful Allgäu via ferrata, which is also suitable for sporty beginners. The continuous securing and well-done route make the trail, beside the short approach, a family excursion destination that should not be underestimated, as the key section comes quite high up. The second part is easier.
