This route is designed for road cyclists and mostly runs on well-maintained cycle paths and moderately trafficked roads. From Saarbrücken, this route leads in a southeast direction. The Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve with its gentle hills is considered a hidden gem among road cyclists. The region is also the annual venue for the internationally renowned junior world cup race Trofeo Karlsberg. With a detour to Lorraine and the Bitche region, the route offers even more variety. Townscapes and landscapes are constantly changing. You can comfortably finish the route along the flat Saar cycle path coming from France and relax in Saarbrücken's old town or in the beer garden with a view of the Saar.

By road bike or touring bike to Paris. I myself took four days each for the trip in 2018 and 2022. With little luggage and a road bike, it is certainly possible to manage it in 3 days. The route was revised by me once again in September 2022. A great journey to a wonderful city that has done a lot for cyclists in recent years.
