From Unterjoch on the tarmac cycle path to Schattwald. In Schattwald, head north over the Zugspitzblick and down to Tannheim. From Tannheim, cycle north past Grän into the Engetal valley. Follow the road to the German/Austrian border. From here, take the gravel road uphill for 6 kilometres to the mountain station of the mountain railway. Now comes a long descent to Pfronten. From Pfronten, the route leads through the Vielstal valley to Jungholz. From Jungholz, you pass the Sorgalpe and return to Unterjoch.

Gemütliche Radwege für die Familie findet ihr im ganzen Allgäu. Mal führt die Tour entspannt am Wasser entlang – immer mit der Möglichkeit zu einer erfrischenden Pause – und mal geht es durch die sanften Hügel der Region. Unterwegs warten Begegnungen mit Tieren auf euch, besonders Kühe fühlen sich im Allgäu wohl. Ihr könnt einen Stopp am Minigolfplatz oder bei einer Kneippanlage einlegen, Orte wie Isny, Kempten und Oberstdorf erkunden oder die Königsschlösser bei Füssen besichtigen. Die Glückstouren im Unterallgäu bringen außerdem verschiedene Themen anschaulich näher.
Hoch hinaus mit bestem Blick
Anspruchsvolle Radstrecken sind im Allgäu nicht schwer zu finden. Knackige Aufstiege, lange Kurven, schnelle Abfahrten – die hügelige Voralpenlandschaft ist prädestiniert für ein forderndes Raderlebnis, egal ob mit dem Mountainbike, dem Trekking- oder dem Tourenrad. Wie wäre es mit einer Rundtour, bei der ihr das Allgäu richtig kennenlernt? Kennt ihr den Wächter des Allgäus, den Grünten? Wenn nicht, wird es Zeit und ihr begebt euch auf die Radrunde rund um den imposanten Berg. Oder ihr umrundet die Nagelfluhkette, deren Grat bei Wanderern sehr beliebt ist. Eins ist euch bei euren Touren im Allgäu sicher: beste Aussichten auf die imposante Bergwelt der Allgäuer Alpen.
Übrigens könnt ihr auch auf den zwei Fernradwegen Radrunde Allgäu und Oberschwaben Allgäu Radweg die Region entdecken. Natürlich muss man nicht die gesamte Strecke am Stück fahren. Sucht euch einfach eine Etappe aus und los geht’s!
Radfahren mit Erlebnis
Wer bei seiner Radtour gerne Zwischenstopps bei historischen oder kulturellen Highlights einlegt und einkehrt, ist ebenfalls richtig im Allgäu. Hier gibt es Ruinen und Schlösser, historische Orte und Kirchen, Bauernhofmuseen und Mühlen zu entdecken. Aber macht euch selbst ein Bild und sucht euch euer Lieblingshighlight aus unseren Vorschlägen heraus. Für einen Einkehrschwung gibt es meist zahlreiche Möglichkeiten entlang der Wege. Von Restaurants bis zu Käsereien und Brauereien ist alles dabei, die regionale Küche im Allgäu ist sehr reichhaltig.
