Pilgrim walks in Tyrol

The classic route leads in stages over 135 km in about 7 days through the entire Pinzgau to the Marian pilgrimage sites from Jochbergwald to the pilgrimage destination Maria Kirchental.

The Tyrol-Allgäu Way of St James This Alpine Route of St. James, which is both scenically and culturally very attractive, leads off the main roads over three Alpine passes, namely the Fernpass, the old Gaichtpass and the Jochpass. It crosses some of the most attractive hiking and holiday regions of Tyrol and southern Upper Allgäu on ancient Roman, trade and pilgrim paths.

Scenically varied route through the quiet Rotlech Valley down to Rieden and Weißenbach on the Lech, then up the old Gaichtpass route into the sunny Tannheimer Tal.

This wonderful alpine route follows the old Roman road, the old salt road, and a section of the Adlerweg off the heavily trafficked Fernpass road across the mountains and offers a magnificent view of the Zugspitze.

Easy, short stage through a panoramic mountain landscape with plenty of time to quietly admire the chapels and churches and relax in the bathing lake.

The vast Tannheimer Tal between steep rock teeth and mountain ridges forms the Tyrolean final stage. The German part begins in Oberjoch with a spectacular descent to Bad Hindelang, one of the most attractive spa and holiday towns in the Allgäu.
