Long-distance hikes in Greece

Day 12 Peloponnese; Day 6 E4 The mountains are calling. We leave the comparatively gentle western part of the Menalon mountains in Vytina and cross the eastern high mountains. You can find the 13th day of the long-distance hike to Tripolis here: https://out.ac/dOXIK

Stage 11 departs Albania from Pogradec and Ohrid Lake, ascending through Galichica and Pelister National Parks, before heading toward the border mountain, Kozhuf.

"Stage 13 re-enters Bulgaria at the triple-border mountain Belasitsa, climbs Slavyanka Mountain - both above 2000 m and then descends into the town of Gotse Delchev."

The eastern part of the Balkan Green Belt Trail (Stages 13-18) crosses Bulgaria and Turkey. Highlights include Thracian sites, bird sanctuaries, two nature parks, and a stunning Black Sea hike ending in Rezovo at the Bulgarian-Turkish border.

The western part of the Balkan Green Belt Trail (Stages 7–12) spans Montenegro, Albania, and North Macedonia. It features rugged peaks, remote villages, pristine national parks, and breathtaking views, ending near the Bulgarian border.

Stage 14 crosses the valley between Pirin and Rhodope Mountains, leading into Rhodope's vast forests, architectural reserves, ancient Thracian sites, and untouched wilderness.

Day 10 Peloponnese; Day 5 Mainalon Trail Certainly the most attractive section of the long-distance trail. From village to village over beautiful paths down and up, to the Lousios River and past monasteries that cling to the rock face like swallow nests - museum visit included. Warning: due to the opening hours of the monasteries (mornings) it is better to hike in the opposite direction (see also a hiker's note in the comment section). "Stage 15 leaves the western Rhodopes, connecting rural villages and exploring remote areas. It reaches the southernmost Veykata Peak, tracing the Greek border throughout."

European long-distance path E4. Partial stage that runs in the northern Peloponnesus. The start is in the coastal town of Diakofto and the end in the city of Tripolis in Arcadia.

Stage 12 descends from Kozhuf to Gevgelija, follows the Greek border toward Dojran Lake, and reaches Belasitsa—the triple-border mountain of North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Greece.
